Salicylic acid for acne
Salicylic acid is an organically derived, (from the Willow tree) beta-hydroxy acid. It is lipophilic which means that it is an oil soluble acid that can penetrate into pores.
Salicylic acid is anti-inflammatory, keratolytic (helps exfoliate dead skin cells), anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. It penetrates pores to loosen clogged follicles by breaking apart dead skin cells, softening them, and helping them slough off the skin.
Salicylic acid works best on individuals who suffer from clogged pores. Clogged pores cause black heads but also sometimes lead to an inflammatory response from the body, which causes redness, whiteheads, and cysts.
By helping to unclog pores and keep pores from clogging in the first place, salicylic acid treats active acne and prevents new outbreaks. Salicylic acid works best on blackheads and whiteheads.
Niacin for acne
Niacinamide or Vitamin B3, also known as Nicotinamide or Niacin, is an acne treatment.
Niacin in topical Acne treatments that are applied directly to the skin.
Niacin is an anti-inflammatory that works to reduce the swelling and redness associated with acne. It also works to regulate the amount of acne-causing oil being produced by the glands in your skin. In addition, it regulates skin tone and can help to fade the red, purple and brown marks that acne can leave on the skin.
As with most acne treatments, niacin takes time to work and you should allow for twelve weeks of use before determining whether or not the product has worked. Topical niacin may help to reduce the skin discoloration, such as red and brown patches, that is left by acne.
Calendula oil for acne
Calendula In addition to being anti-inflammatory, the herb is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. In essence, calendula is a terrific, natural anti-septic that has been widely used in treating acne and lessening the appearance of existing acne scars.

Calendula have the ability to wipe-out bacteria that is often caught inside our skin pores; but additionally, it has also been known to aid in skin cell regeneration which is key to easing the appearance of existing acne scars and ultimately to sustaining a youthful appearance.
